The reception was held exactly one week after the five hundred and thirty third anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. His teachings are based upon solidarity, equality and tolerance.

Ranjit Singh said, “It is wonderful that the Sikh Forum has continued to attract such distinguished company after all these years. We are truly grateful for the support we have received. I am proud of the contributions made by this charity to British society and would like to pledge our unending commitment to strengthening community cohesion in all areas of public life”.
