Members of the Muslim and Sikh communites in Ealing and Southall met for the first time this month to discuss ways of bringing the groups closer together. Those who attended the gathering have now formed the Muslim and Sikh Media Monitoring and Response Project. This group has been formed in light of recent reports documenting hostile relations between the religious communities in some parts of Britain. The group has decided to meet every eight weeks to discuss issues surrounding tensions and those which promote community cohesion. The Muslim and Sikh Media Monitoring and Response Project has plans to organise events which involve both religious communities.
